Perth Children’s Hospital (WA)

With preparations well underway for a 2018 opening, the new Perth Children’s Hospital will replace Princess Margaret Hospital as the sole specialist paediatric hospital in Western Australia, providing the highest level of care to children from all over the state. PCH will have 298 beds, 48 more than PMH and the design of the building allows for future expansion.

The Amway One By One Foundation has recently donated $10,000 to PCH towards the purchase of a specialised cot. This cot will allow safe and optimal management of care needs for technology dependent children (a cohort of children that have a reliance on life saving medical technologies) and also for staff.

This cot has an integrated scale system that can provide the child’s weight with the child in any position, swing open access doors that allow easy patient care, and there is a protective top equipped with intermediate support positions on each side and a retractable fifth wheel which assists with mobility.
