Everyone wants glowing skin, it’s the ultimate sign your body is healthy, and you won’t need too much makeup to help you look good!

As you become older, your skin becomes thinner. Long hours exposed to the sun and wind also takes its toll making your skin appear dry. In this post, we share some tips on how to restore your skin to a youthful appearance. As with any beauty regime, prevention will go a long way in reducing the wear and tear on your skin.

1. Avoid using highly fragranced or harsh products
Using products with a long list of scary sounding chemicals is not good for your skin long term because it strips essential oils that help to keep your skin elastic. Use mild cleansers for skin on your face and body to keep your skin moisturised like Body Series Glycerine & Honey Complexion Bar Soap or Body Series 3 in 1 Soap.

2. Use sunscreen always
It’s critical to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful, ageing rays. Always use sunscreen even if it’s a cloudy day. Use SUN TIME® High Protection Sunscreen Lotion or alternatively use a moisturiser with SPF protection to double the protection. ARTISTRY YOUTH XTEND® Protecting Lotion helps in sun protection and keeps your skin feeling soft and supple.

3. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
According to the Ministry of Health, adult men and women need 3.4 (10 cups) litres and 2.8 litres respectively every day (8 cups). I bet you’re not drinking even half of this recommended amount!

Although some guidelines say all drinks hydrate, there’s nothing as powerful as plain water to flush out toxins from your body. Other drinks may bring unwanted sugar and calories. A simple way to check if you’re adequately hydrated is to check your feet, if they appear supple and not dry then you’re adequately hydrated.

4. Exfoliate
Exfoliating once a week helps lift all the dead skin cells and grime and reveal fresh skin underneath. Use gentle, cream based exfoliants and soft gentle motions as harsh scrubbing will leave your skin feeling blotchy and lead to breakouts. Try ARTISTRY® essentials Polishing Scrub a light foaming scrub with jojoba beads that gently removes dead skin cells.

5. Radiance boosting makeup
If you want radiant skin, try using products which give your skin that celebrity glow like ARTISTRY Ideal Radiance® Illuminating range of products which work by targeting all 3 layers of your skin’s surface and delivering botanicals where they are needed most; to prevent dark spots and discolorations, treat dark spots and discolorations and protect from environmental aggressors.

If you look after your skin from an early age, it will serve you well as you grow older.
